Chuck Wall

Chuck Wall, VITAC’s Engineering Manager, leads VITAC’s encoding department. His expertise includes encoding captions to any digital video format, developing automated workflows for file-based assets, and creating internal solutions for the company’s realtime and offline departments.  If it’s video-related, Chuck has the answer.  Prior to joining VITAC in 2009, Chuck was employed by dubbing facilities, production houses, and Pittsburgh’s local ABC affiliate, WTAE. His “on the side” jobs included starting one of the first streaming sites in the Pittsburgh area and coding websites before WYSIWYG programs were standard. He’s worked with file-based deliverables since the Internet boom in the mid-nineties.

Chuck likes that his daily tasks are never the same, each client has unique needs, and says, “it always a good feeling meeting those needs.”

When not solving technical conundrums, Chuck enjoys spending time with his family- including his Yorkies, Gizmo and Holly- and taking mainline steam train excursions on The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Societies steam locomotive Nickel Plate 765 and the Virginia Museum of Transportation’s NW J611.
