VITAC launches CaptionsON
VITAC launches CaptionsON, an awareness campaign dedicated to heightening
awareness of the benefits of closed captioning to millions of Americans.
The effort includes a new website, a viewer relations bureau allowing viewers to direct
captioning issues directly to program providers, a video highlighting the need for quality

NBC Universal has awarded VITAC the contract to
caption an unprecedented 44,000 hours of live programming.
NBC Universal has awarded VITAC, the nation’s
leader in captioning services, the contract to caption an
unprecedented 44,000 hours of live programming for its networks
- NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, iVillage - as well as for their ten owned and
operated stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia,
San Francisco, Dallas, Washington DC, Miami, San Diego, and Hartford.

VITAC to caption Live
Earth
On July 7th, VITAC will caption Live
Earth, a 24-hour, 7-continent concert series taking
place on 7/7/07. The worldwide event, organized by the
Alliance for Climate Protection, pledges to bring
together music artists and a worldwide audience to help solve
the climate crisis. VITAC will provide realtime captioning for
NBC, Bravo, The Sundance Channel, Telemundo, mun2, Universal
HD and CNBC, with multiple feeds of varying lengths, beginning
at 4:00 a.m. EST and concluding at 3:00 a.m.

called CaptionsON. The objective

uninsured Americans, or Hispanic/Latino
voters, or those on Social Security over
the age of 65. Captions are not only an
essential service to over 31 million
Americans who are deaf or hard of

TU TV chooses VITAC to caption the most popular television chanels in the Spanish-speaking world!
August 15, 2007 -- TuTv announced today that the network distributor will add closed
captioning to their three most popular networks, De Película, De Película Clásico, and Telehit.
VITAC, the nation's largest provider of closed captioning, was chosen as the exclusive provider
of Spanish captioning. TuTv is anxious to offer
this new service to its audience and reach out to the Latino deaf and hard-of-hearing.
Merrill Corporation and WordWave Sign Definitive Purchase
Agreement
PITTSBURGH, November 21, 2005 -- Merrill Corporation, a leading
global provider of technology-enabled solutions for the legal,
financial, real estate and other corporate markets, today
announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire
WordWave, Inc., parent company of VITAC, the leading international
provider of captioning/subtitling services.
The Weather Channel Chooses VITAC, Increases Captioned
Hours
October 1, 2005 -- The Weather Channel, long dedicated to
deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers, will increase the amount
of programming it captions effective October 1st, 2005.
Working with VITAC, the nation's leading closed captioning
company, The Weather Channel will caption 21 hours of regular
programming per day, exceeding the hours the FCC requires
networks to caption. In addition, The Weather Channel
and VITAC will provide captioning for breaking weather emergency
broadcasts sent to local affected areas as part of TWC's WeatherStar
system.
VITAC and Creative Television Marketing provide a
no-cost solution as 2006 the closed captioning mandate nears
February 16, 2005 - Burbank, CA: VITAC, the nation's
top closed captioning provider, has joined forces with Creative
Television Marketing, the leader in broadcast Closed Captioning
Sponsorships. This partnership will provide the potential
for a unique turnkey program that produces a no-cost solution
to the impending FCC regulations, which require virtually
