Our Team

Doug Karlovits, General Manager for VITAC, is a highly accomplished executive with more than 30 years of industry experience. Doug has been deeply involved in all aspects of the company, and previously held the positions of VP, Prerecorded Operations, where he expanded the company’s offline volume by 100%, developed and launched our multi-language subtitling division, and created our Client Sales and Services department, and Chief Business Development Officer. In his current role, Doug manages all operations of VITAC, oversees our sales team, predicts and analyzes revenue, and works to create new technical solutions in our ever-changing industry. His clear understanding of client needs and his ability to grow with the captioning industry have made him an invaluable part of the team.

Jim Holmes, Chief Revenue Officer, leads the business and sales and marketing groups for the Verbit family of companies. A seasoned global business and finance leader, Jim brings a wealth of management experience and unique industry perspectives to our team. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Clarivate, and worked more than two decades at Thomson Reuters, where he held a variety of leadership roles including President of Global Accounts and Managing Director of North America.

Brenda Le, VITAC’s Vice President of Realtime Operations, leads all delivery for live captioning, technical support, scheduling, and client services. She previously was Vice President, Operations, at Thomson Reuters, where she oversaw the Government Tax and Accounting business. Additionally, she has more than 20 years of experience in the telecom industry, leading marketing, order management, IT, and Global Bid operations for Nokia.

Heather York, VITAC’s Vice President of Marketing and Government Affairs, has been deeply involved in closed captioning and video accessibility at VITAC for 28 years. She is responsible for strategy and coordination of VITAC’s internal and external communications, and oversees marketing, advertising, product development, corporate communications, and social and traditional media. Heather serves as VITAC’s advocacy expert in various organizations, and worked with a cross-disability coalition to ensure the passage of the 21st Century Video Accessibility Act, which ensured individuals who rely on captions are not left behind as video is distributed via IP or online. She also represented VITAC as one of four caption companies responsible for the creation of captioning “best practices” issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as part of a Report and Order in 2014, and has served three terms as a member of the FCC’s Disability Advisory Committee.
