Yelena Makarczyk

Yelena Makarczyk joined VITAC in 2003 as Director of Operations, Subtitling. Responsible for day-to-day operations in our subtitling department, she supervises scheduling, traffic, client services, and administration. That means leading more than 300 language experts worldwide, in addition to our QC group and West Coast Spanish captioning and subtitling operations. Under her leadership, our subtitling department has built an industry-wide reputation for consistent quality and timeliness. Yelena spent seven years in the subtitling industry before joining VITAC, having graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in English and World Literature.

Yelena enjoys writing poetry. She and her husband spend their spare time being bossed around by their German Shepherd, who is trilingual.
