Tim Taylor
VP, Engineering and Facility Operations

Timothy Taylor, our vice president of engineering and facility operations, has been in the industry for almost 30 years and has managed our technical operations since 1998. Before he joined us, Tim was the co-owner of two technology-based companies in the captioning and consumer-electronics industries. He holds of a patent for his work in captioning/VBI technology, and helped develop the world’s first realtime captioning system. He spent eight years at PBS, where he led the development of vertical blanking interval (VBI), data transmission, and reception systems. His experience has enabled VITAC to originate technologies that reduce cost and increase quality. Tim is a graduate of Pittsburgh Technical Institute (PTI) and the recipient of the PTI Distinguished Alumni Award.

Tim is married and has 4 daughters. His girls range from Post college (MBA from Duquesne), in college (Notre Dame - Electrical Engineering major), a senior in High School, and one in middle school. Tim used to run marathons and compete in Judo until he busted his neck in a Judo competition.
